What is Buses 4U?

Buses 4U is a network of local community transport bus services which principally operate within the local council areas of Mole Valley District, Reigate & Banstead Borough and Tandridge District in Surrey plus Sevenoaks District in Kent.

Bus 50 - 1 April 2024

The 1715 journey form Dorking to Coldharbour, Ockley & walliswood will be withdrawn, with the last day of operation being Thursday 28 March. The Mole Valley Surrey Connect Digital DRT service will provide an alternative.

Normal services will operate on other days.


Service Changes from 4 September 2023

Tandridge Buses 4U & Bus 540

These services will be withdrawn, the last days of operation being Friday 1 September for Bus 540 and Saturday 2 September for Tandridge Buses 4U.

The Tandridge Dial a Ride service will contine. An updated leaflet may be downloaded here.

Surrey Connect (Tandridge Area)

The above services will be replaced from Monday 4 September by a new Digital Demand Responsive Transport (DDRT) service designed and sponsored by Surrey County Council.

Bus 22 Leigh to Abinger (Saturdays)

Bus 50 Leigh to Horsham (Saturdays)

These services will be withdrawn. The last day of operation will be Saturday 2 September. The Surrey Connect (Mole Valley) DDRT service provides an alternative within the Mole valley area.


Bus 50 - 11 October 2021

The Bus 50 journey at 1655 from Dorking to Ockley on Mondays to Fridays will run 20 miniutes later at 1715.


Bus 623 - 3 September 2021

The Bus 623 journey at 1340 from Epsom to Ashtead on Fridays will run 70 minutes earlier at 1230.


Coronavirus Covid-19

Most services are now running normally.

In accordance with Government regulations, passengers must wear face masks except children under 11, people with special needs and those with ongoing breathing problems. All passsengers must maintain social distancing.

Mole Valley Buses 4U Fare Change - 1 April 2020

A new simplified fare structure for the Mole Valley Buses 4U Demand Responsive service will be introduced on 1 April 2020. From that date the adult single fare will be £5.00 for all journeys. Child fares (5-15 years) will continue to be half price and under 5s travel free. Concessionary passes will continue to be accepted.

One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law comes in to effect on 25 May 2018.

Buses 4U services are operated by the East Surrey Rural Transport Partnership and at ESRTP we need to store the personal information provided by our customers when they initially register with us in order to provide the transport services they require This applies to the following Buses 4U services:

  •  Reigate & Banstead Travel Club

  •  Mole Valley Buses 4U - Demand Responsive Service

  •  Sevenoaks Buses 4U - Bus 422

  •  Tandridge Buses 4U - Demand Responsive Service

The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, is a positive step towards our customers having more control over how their data is used and how they're contacted. The changes will also better protect personal data.

We want our customers to know exactly how our services work and why we need their registration details. We will never share data with any other organisations or individuals and are committed to keeping data safe and secure. We take customer data privacy seriously, as we always have. ESRTP customers who would like to receive a copy of the personal data that we have may contact us to request this at any time.


Our ESRTP customers may choose how they would like to receive information and updates from us. When contacting us in the coming months we may also ask for such preferences.
