Buses 4U

Buses 4U is a completely flexible type of local bus service that has no fixed timetable. The route of the bus is determined by the requests from passengers. This type of service is often referred to as Demand Responsive Transport or DRT.

Buses 4U also operates some fixed route services and our buses principally operate within the local council areas of Mole Valley District, Reigate & Banstead Borough and Tandridge District. To find out more about Buses 4U in your area please follow the links on the left.

Buses 4U Membership

The service in the Reigate & Banstead Borough Council area is available to members only. To become a member download a Buses 4U Registration Form and send it with the £15 fee to the Oxted address on the form. Alternatively, please call 01883 732791 if you would like to be sent a form.

East Surrey Rural Transport Partnership (ESRTP)

September 2011

Tandridge Buses 4U Demand Responsive Service

Following Surrey County Council's 2010-11 consultation and review of bus services in the Tandridge District Council area, the Monday to Saturday Tandridge Buses 4U service will continue. The number of buses operating the evening service will be reduced from two to one after 1900 hours (7pm).

With effect from Monday 5 September 2011, the Sunday and Public Holiday service will be withdrawn completely.

Outwood Youth Bus

Buses 4U will commence a new youth bus service, which will operate from Outwood and Smallfield to Horley, Redhill and Reigate on Friday and Saturday evenings and on Saturday afternoons. The service is supported by funding from the Surrey County Council Local Committee (Tandridge). February 2011

Reigate & Banstead - Evening Service North of M25

The Demand Responsive Service that operates north of the M25 in the evenings will be withdrawn with effect from 14 February 2011. The last day that this service will be available for bookings will therefore be Saturday 12 February 2011.

November 2010

Buses 50, 433 & 522 - Mole Valley Area

The timetables for the above routes will change on Monday 1 November. The changes are mostly timing adjustments.

September 2010

Buses 541/542 Caterham Villager

The Monday to Friday evening journeys operated by Buses 4U will be withdrawn on Friday 3 September.

Farnham DRT

Operation of the Farnham DRT service has passed from AMK to Waverley Hoppa. As a result, the booking number for this service has changed to 01428 681701 and is open on Mondays to Fridays between 0800 and 1600.

April 2010

Easilok Project

Three new Easilok chairs have recently been purchased and deployed on three Buses 4U vehicles operating in the Reigate & Banstead Borough Council area. This brings to four the number of Easilok seats we have purchased, the first having been bought in 2008 following a grant of £1000 by the Gatwick Airport Community Trust.

Easilok seats can be used as ordinary passenger seats, but have a dual function as a wheelchair restraint system, enabling a passenger who needs to travel on the bus in their wheelchair to be safely and securely restrained against a padded backrest.

Closure of the Travel Centre on Saturdays

Due to the small number of bookings made on Saturdays and the need to contain costs, the Travel Centre will no longer be open on Saturdays after 31 October 2009. For information on booking please follow the How to Book link above left.
